“Shaken baby syndrome is the most mind-blowing story I have encountered in 26 years as a journalist,” says Susan Goldsmith, whose film The Syndrome has been nominated for a Jury Award at its premiere next month at the Kansas International Film Festival. “The deeper and deeper you go, the worse it gets.”
Even over the phone, Goldsmith crackles with the same energy that makes the trailer so compelling and no doubt earned the film its nomination. “When I found out how the promoters of the theory are trying to silence their critics,” she flares, “I knew I had to make this movie.”
She promises an “explosive” exposé, consistent with her web site’s report that the film “unflinchingly identifies those who have built careers and profited from this theory along with revealing their shocking pasts.”
The Syndrome profiles three of the most outspoken critics of shaking theory, forensic pathologist John Plunkett, pediatric neuroradiologist Pat Barnes, and neurosurgeon…

I went to vote bright & early this morning with my grandmother. She voted exactly the same as mine, but she is old-schooled, refusing to let me take a picture of her ballot. She cites the Anthony Weiner “little weiner” selfie as an example. She says to me, “It’s OK to talk about your private parts or private decisions, but not OK to publicize them in pictures.”
In case you miss the Candidate Forum, see the photos below. Notice how “popular?!?!?!?!” John Liu is among Asian-Americans who are holding big Anti-John Liu signs at the Candidate Forum. For English news coverages, check out The Epoch Times for the most detailed coverage, Queens Courier for the photos and the protest coverage, The NY Observer for protest as well as candidates’ positions on various issues, the Queens Tribune did a surprisingly detailed coverage on this candidate forum, the Queens Chronicle focused on the six Q & A at the Forum.

Photo by World Journal: The paper banner written in Chinese says 人渣敗類 劉醇逸 (English Translation: John Liu is a scumbag, a bad example).
Photo by the Epoch Times: Notice the body language of John Liu pressing his lips inward (aka: compressed lips) in the above photo. This “compressed lips” body language indicates that the person is pressured to confront an unwelcome situation. The limbic brain reacts by compressing the lips inward to try to hold back something. Famous “compressed lips” examples are Eliot Spitzer and Anthony Weiner. Now, we see John Liu showing similar “compressed lips” as Eliot Spitzer and Anthony Weiner exhibited to the public.

Not long after former NYC Comptroller John Liu sent out fancy NY Senate campaign brochures claiming he did a stellar job on the NYC Pension investments in July 2014, the New York Times published the following FRONT-PAGE (Page A1) article on August 4, 2014 Print Edition contradicting John Liu’s false claims.
I have highlighted certain paragraphs in the New York Times article below.
By the way, despite John Liu falsely claiming that he is popular with Chinese-American voters in NYC. We know at least one Chinese-American who works for the New York Times is NOT a big fan of John Liu. New York Times City Hall bureau chief reporter David W. Chen broke the John Liu campaign irregularities scandal in 2011 with his colleague Raymond Hernandez. And David W. Chen is the lead author on the NYC Pension article below with his colleague Mary Williams Walsh.
There are plenty of Chinese-Americans against John Liu (NOTE: they don’t belong to Falun Gong at all). Read my other blog entry HERE for details.
Save NEW Date! Will #Queens Library do sneaky things again on 4/18 with Thomas Galante & politicians?
Let’s wait and see if Thoma$ Galante will show up at TWO library re-opening celebrations happening on the same day:
the Arverne library at 312 Beach 54th St, Far Rockaway NY (Tel: 718-634-4784) reopening celebration from 1:00-2:00PM on Friday, April 18, 2014 and
the Queensboro Hill library at 60-05 Main St, Flushing NY (Tel: 718-359-8332) reopening celebration/Chinese musical concert from 2:30 – 3:30PM on Friday, April 18, 2014.
Per NY Daily News photog who sat outside his home in Wilton, CT, Thoma$ Galante skipped work, holed up in his home to avoid the press and public scrutiny at the Fresh Meadows library reopening celebration on March 28, 2014. On the VERY same day (March 28, 2014) the NY Daily News had a very unflattering headline news on Thoma$ Galante (see below a photo snapshot of one library copy of the NY Daily News vandalized by an unknown patron in pencil sketching).
On Friday, April 11, 2014, Thoma$ Galante went to Flushing library to celebrate the opening of the 24/7 self check-in machines. According to local Chinese newspaper Sing Tao Daily (click to read original Chinese news link), ALL of the local elected officials SUDDENLY found themselves tied up with other engagements happening at the same time on that day. They include Rep. Grace Meng, NYS Senator Toby Stavisky, NYS Assemblyman Ron Kim, City Councilman Peter Koo all decided to avoid being seen with Thoma$ Galante unless the elected officials were grilling Galante on his corruption charges. So they ALL sent their office representatives to go there, totally avoided being photographed with the current most hated man in Queens – Thoma$ Galante.
SNEAKY TRICK #1 done by the Queens Library – making BODY DOUBLE who resembles Rep. Grace Meng to stand next to Thoma$ Galante in photo, plus unannounced event at Flushing library. NOTE: ALL of the elected officials in Flushing SUDDENLY bailed out of this event at Flushing library on April 11, 2014 – because Thoma$ Galante showed up. That chubby Asian woman on 3rd LEFT in grey dress (next to Galante) is NOT Rep. Grace Meng. Her name is Minwen Yang who is the Asian-speaking assistant for NYS Senator Toby Stavisky who looks like Rep. Grace Meng if you ask me. The subtle differences are: her Body Double’s face is a bit rounder and meatier, and her hair a bit longer than Grace Meng’s. Hence she was there as a Body Double for Grace Meng to confuse people. Photo (starting from 3rd left): Minwen Yang from NYS Senator Toby Stavisky’s office, Thoma$ Galante a corrupted & morally bankrupt man, Don Capalbi from Rep. Grace Meng’s office, Al Rankin from Friends of the Flushing Library, Yuh-Line Niou from NYS Assemblyman Ron Kim’s office, Marilyn Bitterman – Community Board 7 District Manager, Donna Ciampa – manager at Flushing Library, andIan Chen from City Councilman Peter Koo’s office
The above is a true and real copy of the March 28, 2014 edition of the NY Daily News at the East Flushing library branch (click on the photo itself to view the “art work” up close). Someone obviously was trying to renew library items by jotting down the automated # 718-990-8508 and the Option #5 for renewal. He/she also did some pencil sketching on Thoma$ Galante’s face too.
SNEAKY TRICK #2 done by the Queens Library – using Councilman Costa Constantinides as BODY DOUBLE for Thoma$ Galante (Part 1 of 2): As you can see from this official/courtesy photo above (click on the photo itself to enlarge it for better viewing), Thoma$ Galante was a no-show at the March 28 Fresh Meadows library reopening celebration. If you don’t believe me, check the next photo taken by local folks when Galante’s “look-alike” was looking up toward the cameras. I am afraid Queens Library sent a “Galante look-alike” (aka: City Councilman Costa Constantides) and snapped the above photo while his “look-alike” was looking down. From l to r: Marc Haken of the Community Board 8; Queens Library COO Bridget Quinn-Carey; City Councilman Mark Weprin; NYS Senator Toby Stavisky; NYS Assemblywoman Nily Rozic; City Councilman Costa Constantinides; Jim Gallagher of the Fresh Meadows Homeowners Civic Association and Bob Harris of the West Cunningham Park Civic Association.
Cont’d: SNEAKY TRICK #2 done by the Queens Library – the trick revealed by a photo snapped by local folks (Part 2 of 2): Check out the above photo taken by local folks (click on the photo itself for better viewing), the big man standing next to the “Lady in Red” NYS Assemblywoman Nily Rozic is truly City Councilman Costa Constantinides. NOTE: Constantinides‘ larger frame and thinning hair bore quite a resemblance to Galante at first glance. But Galante has more severe level of receding hairline than Constantinides, and Constantinides has olive complexion vs. Galante‘s fair skin complexion.
If you subscribe to Time Warner Cable, the NY1 photographer took some video images of the Fresh Meadows library reopening celebrations on March 28, they called it the “Million Dollar Makeover at the Queens Library at Fresh Meadows“. Click on this LINK to view it, the catch is, you need to provide your subscriber information to view it.
Queens Library chief Thoma$ Galante always attends library reopening celebrations in the past (see photos below for proof). Let’s see if he will attend the upcoming Fresh Meadows library reopening shortly after the FBI and NYC Dept of Investigations are launching investigations on him and his construction pal Frank Marino, or will Galante skip it to avoid the media attention? The FM library reopening celebration was originally scheduled for February 21, but it was suddenly cancelled and then re-scheduled for March 28 (Hmm? Why?). If you can attend this WEEKDAY event, make sure to give the embattled Library CEO a piece of your mind.
The reopening celebration at the Fresh Meadows Library (phone: 718-454-7272) will be on Friday, March 28 at 1:00 pm (see photos below for the address of the library). Come and see what Thoma$ Galante’s no-bid contractor pal Frank Marino did to this library and many others. Who knows, maybe Thoma$ Galante will stop by to show you what a “wonderful” job his pal did. Be sure to “guess” if there will be undercover FBI and NYC Dept of Investigations people attending this reopening event. NOTE that the Fresh Meadows library renovation (just like renovations in other Queens library branches) was FULLY FUNDED by the NYC City Council and the State of New York (aka: taxpayers’ money).
By the way, the last time the news media went crazy in this part of Fresh Meadows (Queens), NY was in 2009 when the Swine Flu was all the rage at St. Francis Preparatory School (SFP) just a few hundred feet away from the Fresh Meadows Library. Embattled NYS Senator Malcolm Smith’s daughter Amanda was then a sophomore at SFP in 2009, she was one of the students who caught the Swine Flu.
